2D & 3D-realisation Michelin

Requirements:

The new energy saving tire of Michelin should be presented to the road users in an unusual form with a 3D-Mega Poster. The chosen cities for the realisation were Zurich, Basle and Geneva. The realisation had to be adapted by Michelin because there was a Michelin-spot on TV at the same time.

Realisation:

For realisation of the 3D-project the company selected two tires, the car as well as the Michelin man. A realisation at the location in Geneva couldn't be done because of the size and the weight of the 3D-elements. In Zurich, however, the authorities refused a permission for the realisation. Therefore, only in Basle the 3D-project could be realised. Due to the problems in Geneva and Zurich the project must be realised with 2D-elements. As required the 3D-elements were manufactured from EPS and provided with a PU-coating. This coating iis ideally suitable for outdoor installations and for better resistance. All the parts were manufactured from special plates and installed distantly to the poster. This obtained a 3D-effection, which had the same effection as the original one.
